Epinephrine 0.1 release
Just released the first version of Epinephrine on the Google Android Market.
Differences with the latest (and the last) version of MSN Talk are summarised to the Change Logs page.
For those who don't like to jump Change Logs page, I will comment some notes.
MSN Talk=> Epinephrine (hard to type? just type epnp for communicate)- New Icon
- Grayscale icon for comfortable status bar.
- Epinephrine now don't force users to see default app icon for buddies who don't set their profile picture (or Epinephrine couldn't get their pictures) on chatting windows. (Note that your default profile picture is still epinephrine app icon.)
- Free users are also able to transfer files with Epinephrine.
- Temporary logo image which is borrowed from Wikipedia.
Next things I like to do with Epinephrine are
- Fix bugs for 'Add a new user' and 'Accept/Reject invitation'.
- C2DM for save battery life. maybe only for paid (Epinephrine Plus) users.
- Customisable Emoticon sets (I'm sorry but I really don't like to use the original MSN emoticon set by default.)
- Plug-in framework to save my time. other developers may help you.
- Video chat, if I have lots of time to dig in.

Today, both MSN Talk free and pro version have been removed from Android Market due to violation of the Developer Content Policy.
Microsoft claimed that MSN Talk violates their trademark that the word MSN and Messenger design (more specific, the icon).

Microsoft have reported it to the Google Android Market. As a result, Google removed MSN Talk free/pro from their Android Market.
I think that the problems are
- The name of the app. "MSN Talk".
- The icon. it may make users to think that 'MSN Talk' is official MSN client.
While I didn't receive any warnings before, I have to prepare a new name and make a new icon of my app to launch MSN Talk(old name) on the Google Android Market again.
Let me give few seconds to choose a new name of the app..

Epinephrine
Yeah, I also know this name is quite hard to pronounce and very hard to remember . However, Microsoft and Google makes me to generate a bunch of adrenaline hormone, so I choose it. Hundreds sorry in advance.
The refund policy for over 10,000 users who bought 'MSN Talk Pro'.
- I will refund whole money for users who want to purchase again. If so, please send me an email to msntalk-refund at talk-builder dot com including your order number of Google Checkout, and your name. then I will refund your previous order immediately.
The release date of Epinephrine would be 3rd, Mar, 2011.
One more thing, if you can't wait to launch Epinephrine, and still want to use MSN Talk, you can download MSN Talk Free 2.40.2 or MSN Talk Pro 2.40.2 on my server until 1st, April, 2011. Note that purchasing MSN Talk Pro license is not available anymore. If you bought MSN Talk Pro before 19, Feb, 2011, you can freely use MSN Talk Pro with above apk file. Or, MSN Talk Pro 2.40.2 is totally useless for you.

File transfer in MSN Talk 2.40 Pro
Hello everyone. long time no see.
I'm very happy to announce a new version of MSN Talk.
We've added file transfer feature for MSN Talk Pro users, and rewrite core part of MSN Talk for both free and pro version, and also fix some critical bugs.
While we added file transfer feature ONLY for pro version, it doesn't mean we will stop to care about free version.
Both free and pro version shares a same implementation. They are not separated when we're developing. For example, if a bug is fixed, it means it will automatically be applied to both version.
Although I've written change logs on a page which are embed in the app, I want to explain file transfer feature again in this post.
- File Transfer (Pro only)
- You can send a file to a contact via menu in chat windows, or pressing long click on 'send' button.
- Also can receive a file from a contact. of course you can accept or reject for this file invitation message.
- Received files will be stored in the /msntalk/download directory in the SD card.
- When you finished to receive a file, you can open that file if the file type is image, audio, video, text, html, pdf, or office documents. for this, you should have appropriate viewer apps on your phone.
- If the file type is image or audio, it will be automatically added into your media gallery.
- Unfortunately, transfer speed is not good. If a contact is in a open network environment and you have luck, the speed would be max by using direct connection. but in most cases, MSN Talk may send/receive files via chat session. it means the speed might be not good, approximate 4~5KB per a second. but works.
Finally, we're sorry for splitting free and pro version, and put file transfer feature only for pro version.
In August, we were banned from Google AdSense service for unknown and unexplained reason, and lost large amount of money. We now think that earn money by exposing advertisement to users is too dangerous. As a result, we have decided to suppress some features for free version. I hope you understand me.
